Exempt: No Reports to: Foreman
SUMMARY: This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks under limited supervision. This job involves the use of hand and power tools and the operation of light truck and construction equipment as a part of the assignment. Duties may be performed under adverse weather or working conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or a GED is required. Considerable experience in a semiskilled capacity in work similar to Public Works and public utilities or the construction trade is required. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ADA: This job requires walking, standing, pushing, bending, stooping, equipment operation and driving and employee works outside in various weather conditions. Working in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment may be required as well as working from heights, in dusty condition, with hands, feet, and/or legs in water and may handle chemicals.
Lifting: 45 Pounds or more

Vision: 20/20 or Corrected to 20/100
Hearing: Normal Noise Levels for Office Environment

MAINTENANCE WORKER III
Pay Grade: 11 Dept: Utility/P&R/PW
Exempt: No Reports to: Foreman
Hours: 40 per week
SUMMARY: This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks under limited supervision. This job involves the use of hand and power tools and the operation of light truck and construction equipment as a part of the assignment. Duties may be performed under adverse weather or working conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possesses a C.D.L. needed Class B.
- Performs duties such as laying pipe, pouring and forming sidewalks, installing water meters, and repairing broken water lines.
- Performs yard maintenance including cutting, trimming, planting, and seeding.
- Performs simple maintenance on automotive vehicles and equipment.
- Repairs parking meters and lawn sprinklers.
- Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Performs duties such as painting buildings and structures, erecting traffic signs, and striping City parking lots and streets.
- Makes simple chemical tests at well pumps.
- Performs simple trade tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and welding.
- Operates sewer locator T.V. and sewer jet.
- Marks and locates force mains and lateral.
- Performs routine custodial work and does minor repairs.
- Performs a variety of other related tasks.
