Pay Grade: 17 Dept: Parks and Recreation
Exempt: No Reports to: Center Director
SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the promoting, planning, scheduling and administration of special events at the Sanborn Activity Center and Earl Brown Park. Additional duties to include event planner and assisting the Sanborn Center Director in daily recreation activities at the Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing in Marketing and or Event Planning. Marketing and event planning are strongly required skills. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to develop and maintain good personal relationship with others, and communicate both orally and in writing.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram forms. Applicant must also be able to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations when immediate guidance from the supervisor may not be available.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ADA: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may reach, climb, walk, stand, stoop, drive, balance or push to complete job task. Employee may work in an office environment or outside in various weather conditions. May work in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment.

Vision: 20/20 or Corrected to 20/100
Hearing: Normal Noise Levels

Marketing and Special Events Coordinator

Hours: 40 per week
SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the promoting, planning, scheduling and administration of special events at the Sanborn Activity Center and Earl Brown Park. Additional duties to include event planner and assisting the Sanborn Center Director in daily recreation activities at the Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate services, personnel, materials and support systems needed for special programming at the center and park
- Administration of contracts for the Center and Park
- Supervise and assist staff for special events at the Center and Park
- Monitor all caterers assigned to special events at Center and Park
- Monitor the maintenance and inventory assigned to special events at Center and Park
- Seek and secure promotional sponsorships for special events at the Center and Park.
- Assist Director with daily activities and all other duties assigned
- Ability to work evening hours, weekends and holidays

- Proficiency with Microsoft suite and technology
- Ability with oral and written communications
- Ability to apply strong knowledge in work place safety.
- Long and short range planning and scheduling skills.

- Ability to establish and maintain good personal relations with other employees and the public.
